Concert
Location:Lagerhalle
Time:
Florian Weber, Michel Benita, Jeff Ballard. Guests: Anna-Lena Schnabel & Michel Godard
The pianist Florian Weber has helped shape a number of great moments at the Morgenland Festival Osnabrück – from intimate duos with Kinan Azmeh to a concerto for two pianos and orchestra, written especially for him and Salman Gambarov by composer Wolf Kerschek.
Weber is a master at opening up musical spaces. His repertoire is so vast that he never ceases to amaze fellow musicians and audiences alike. In 2020, Florian Weber was the first jazz musician to be awarded the Belmont Prize, the most highly endowed prize for contemporary music in Germany. Weber is “one of the most important musical innovators in contemporary music… His music quite naturally conveys the impression of unprecedented musical freedom,” wrote the award’s jury in their commendation.
Weber will be joined by a wonderful ensemble for the anniversary edition of the festival. Musical expansiveness guaranteed!
