Morgenland All Star Band & Morgenland Chamber Orchestra

The anniversary edition of the Morgenland Festival Osnabrück is dedicated to the younger generation with a view to the future – but of course we also want to celebrate 20 years of Morgenland! So, we are opening the festival with members of two ensembles that were formed as part of the festival, alongside many long-time companions.

The Morgenland Chamber Orchestra was founded in 2009. It brings musicians from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Azerbaijan and Turkey together with the Osnabrück Symphony Orchestra. They have performed with Alim Qasimov, Jivan Gasparyan, Kinan Azmeh, Maias Alyamani and many others, and well over 10 million people have experienced the orchestra's concert recordings online.

The Morgenland All Star Band has been fascinating audiences since 2012 with a global sound network of traditional music, jazz and rock. The band unites outstanding musical personalities from West Asia with European jazz greats. They have wowed audiences at the Bimhuis in Amsterdam, the Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin, the Philharmonic Hall in Almaty, the Saygun Culture Centre in Izmir and on tour in venues across China.
