Concert

Location:Domvorplatz Osnabrück

Time:

Aynur & Osnabrück Symphony Orchestra - Open Air Concert

This evening is, in many respects, a dream line-up of the Morgenland Festival: Aynur, the outstanding interpreter of Kurdish songs, will perform for the first time together with the Osnabrück Symphony Orchestra. Over the years, Aynur's music has made her one of the most important voices in Kurdish culture. She comes from Eastern Anatolia and expresses the pain, longing and beauty of this heritage with her warm voice and great stage presence. Aynur gives concerts all over the world: from the Elbphilharmonie to Carnegie Hall. She has worked with famous ensembles such as Yo-Yo Ma's Silk Road Ensemble and performed the Kurdish song "Ehmedo" in the film "Crossing the Bridge" by Fatih Akin. For the Morgenland Festival, Naci Özgüç will conduct the orchestra. Among others, he was chief conductor of the Ankara State Opera and Ballet Orchestra and conducted Aynur's first performance at the Morgenland Festival in 2012. Composer and conductor Wolf Kerschek has written the arrangements.
