Prologue: Fateh Moudarres - Sketches
Fateh Moudarres (d. 1999) is considered a pioneer of modern art in Syria. He studied in Rome and Paris and, as a teacher at the College of Fine Arts in Damascus, he influenced several generations of young artists. His works have been exhibited on four continents. This exhibition presents 24 sketches by the painter, which are being exhibited here for the first time. Al-Moudarres also published literary works and was a passionate piano player. Inspired by the recordings he left behind, Kinan Azmeh (clarinet) and Florian Weber (piano) will perform music that can be heard as part of the exhibition.
A co-operation with the Sievert Foundation for Science and Culture.
All works are on loan from Rania al-Moudarres.
Opening on 01.08. at 17:00 in the presence of Rania al-Moudarres
Guest: Kinan Azmeh - clarinet
Please register for the opening at info@morgenland-festival.com.
The exhibition is open on concert days from 2-17 August from 16:30-19:00.
