Morgenland Festival Osnabrück at the Representation of Lower Saxony in Berlin
As part of the public annual program “inspektionen // NeuLand,” the Morgenland Festival Osnabrück was invited to the Representation of Lower Saxony in Berlin. Together with the award-winning Joolaee Trio, the festival presented an inspiring musical evening dedicated to cultural exchange and the unifying power of music.
In her speech, festival director Shabnam Parvaresh introduced this year’s edition of the Morgenland Festival and spoke about how music can become a sense of home, memory, and hope for people living in the diaspora. For the past twenty years, the Morgenland Festival has brought together artists from diverse cultural and musical backgrounds in Osnabrück, creating spaces for new artistic encounters and collaborations.
As a special preview of the 2026 festival edition, the Joolaee Trio captivated the Berlin audience with an extraordinary performance. Kamancheh virtuoso Misagh Joolaee appeared alongside internationally renowned pianist Schaghajegh Nosrati and versatile percussionist Sebastian Flaig. In a sensitive and powerful musical dialogue, the three artists merged Persian and European musical traditions in an impressive and deeply moving way.
Against the backdrop of current political developments, the evening gained particular emotional resonance. The encounter between artists with Iranian roots who are now active in Lower Saxony highlighted how art can build bridges between cultures and societies.
More than 100 guests experienced a concert evening filled with intensity, virtuosity, and artistic openness at the Representation of Lower Saxony in Berlin. Those who missed the performance in Berlin will have another opportunity to experience the Joolaee Trio at the Morgenland Festival Osnabrück on May 31, 2026 — this time joined by a soloist.
The Morgenland Festival Osnabrück would like to sincerely thank the Representation of Lower Saxony in Berlin for the invitation and the wonderful collaboration.
