Exhibition: Resistance – From fine cracks to deep tremors
Opening for the Exhibition “Resistance – From Fine Cracks to Deep Tremors”
in cooperation with the Art Gallery hase29
The opening of the exhibition Resistance – From Fine Cracks to Deep Tremors at hase29 was met with great public interest and a large number of visitors. Presented in cooperation with the Morgenland Festival Osnabrück, the exhibition brings together works by Homa Emami, Parastou Forouhar, Nazanin Noori, and Anahita Razmi — four artists with biographical connections to Iran whose works explore different and often ambivalent forms of resistance.
Against the backdrop of ongoing political repression and protest movements in Iran, the exhibition reflects on how resistance can become visible through artistic practice — through strategies of subversion, fragmentation, appropriation, and the creation of new spaces of visibility. The title From Fine Cracks to Deep Tremors becomes a metaphor for both subtle shifts within everyday life and the profound moments in which existing structures begin to shake.
The exhibition was curated by Shabnam Parvaresh and Jasmina Janoschka and opened with welcoming remarks by Elisabeth Lumme, Chairwoman of hase29, Julian Lautenbach, the new Artistic Director of hase29, and Shabnam Parvaresh, Director of the Morgenland Festival Osnabrück. Jasmina Janoschka introduced the exhibition and its curatorial approach.
A special highlight of the evening was the powerful dance performance by Ghazal Ramzani, whose expressive choreography entered into dialogue with the themes of the exhibition and created an emotional opening moment.
The strong audience response and lively conversations throughout the evening demonstrated the urgency and relevance of the exhibition’s themes and the importance of interdisciplinary artistic exchange within the framework of the Morgenland Festival.
