Tania Giannouli Trio

The Greek pianist, composer and band leader Tania Giannouli has in the past years estsablished herself as one of the most influential and unique artists of the international jazz scene. With her classical training, distinctive improvisational style, and cross-genre approach to sound, she has developed a musical language that is lyrical, powerful, multi-layered and open to influences from a wide variety of cultures.

Her award-winning releases on Rattle Records and collaborations with internationally renowned musicians have earned her widespread acclaim. Most recently, she was named Rising Star Pianist of the Year by DownBeat Critics Poll.

For this concert, Giannouli will present her current trio program – together with the trumpeter Jean-Paul Estiévenart and the oud player Kyriakos Tapakis. This exceptional line-up creates a distinctive sound tapestry: finely woven interplay that effortlessly transcends the borders between East and West, contemporary music, world music, and jazz.

The trio combines powerful improvisations, poetic timbres, and compositional depth, resulting in an atmospheric and highly condensed concert experience.
