Duo Gardân - Yasamin Shahhosseini & Mehdi Emami

The young Iranian oud virtuoso and composer Yasamin Shahhosseini has already thrilled audiences at the Morgenland Festival Osnabrück on several occasions, variously as a soloist, in collaboration with Kayhan Kalhor, and with the Morgenland All Star Band. The winner of the prestigious Aga Khan Music Award has enjoyed an unrivalled career in recent years. For the festival’s anniversary, Shahhosseini returns to Osnabrück together with singer Mehdi Emami as the duo Gardân. Both come from the world of Persian classical music and are enthusiastic about encounters with other traditions within the world of modal music.
