Hello Psychaleppo & Philipp Geist

Samer Saem Eldahr – aka Hello Psychaleppo – comes from one of the most musically and culturally rich cities in the Levant: Aleppo in Syria. Psychaleppo had to leave his hometown due to the civil war and now lives in the USA and Turkey. He combines the melodies of the Bedouin and popular Arabic music with modern Western sounds such as dubstep, electro and industrial. Detached from genre boundaries, he leads his audience into experimental worlds of sound. His first album, 2013’s Gool Lʼah, is considered the foundation stone of electro-tarab.

The evening's lighting design is in the hands of Philip Geist. The artist has not only created lighting for classical concert halls such as the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and the Konzerthaus Berlin, but also for the iconic Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, Cologne Cathedral, the royal throne in Bangkok, the Azadi Tower in Tehran and countless other locations around the world.
