Acoustic Solo: Bach & Beyond

Bach & Beyond, the concept show accompanying the release of Francesco Tristano's ongoing Bach series, was born as a concert program to explore three ways of interpreting the music of Bach: original, transcription, and remix. Over the past season, the program has evolved to adapt each time to the concert location and audience. It is a personal, contemporary conversation with the great Baroque master. Expect to hear Bach originals (Partitas, English and French Suites), Bach-inspired works by Francesco Tristano and Friedrich Gulda, as well as a few surprises.

Francesco Tristano is one of the most versatile pianist-composers and producers on the avant-garde scene. Being equally at home with the classical repertoire as with electronic dance music, he has recorded over 20 albums for labels such as Deutsche Grammophon, Sony Classical, Get Physical, and Transmat. He has collaborated with Ryuichi Sakamoto, Alice Sara Ott, Carl Craig, and Mikhail Pletnev, among others. In 2023, he created Into the Future, with the idea of recording and releasing the complete works for keyboard by Johann Sebastian Bach.
