The Morgenland Festival and the Osnabrück Symphony Orchestra have experienced many musical highlights together. The latest of these was on the open-air stage in front of the Cathedral in 2019. This year a whole programme is dedicated to the Syrian composer and singer, Dima Orsho. Orsho, who studied in Syria and the USA, has worked with artists such as Tina Turner and Yo-Yo Ma, winning a Grammy with his Silk Road Ensemble. She has recorded Arabian folksongs and baroque music with Nuria Rial and the Ensemble Alta Ripa, and is equally at home on the opera stage as she is when performing jazz. Maestro Wolf Kerschek has arranged her compositions for orchestra. Orsho’s German friends and long-time companions Manfred Leuchter and Frederik Köster are illustrious guests at this evening.
The concert will take place on the 27th of June at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. again.
