Petros Klampanis – Tora Collective

Composer and bassist Petros Klampanis, born on the Greek island of Zakynthos, has made a name for himself in recent years. Today he lives alternately in Athens and New York and performs worldwide with personalities such as Jaques Morelenbaum, Arooj Aftab, Anoushka Shankar, Snarky Puppy, Dimitra Maria Farantouri and many others. As a bandleader, he has released fantastic productions in his own right.

Klampanis presents his Tora Collective at the Morgenland Festival Osnabrück 2024. Tora is the Greek word for ‘now’. Together with his ensemble, Klampanis builds a bridge from traditional Greek music to jazz, saying “I wanted to reflect on what Greek music and culture have to offer the world.” The result of his reflections has delighted audiences and critics worldwide.
