Shabnam Parvaresh will take over as artistic director of the Morgenland Festival Osnabrück for the years 2026 to 2028.
The clarinetist, visual artist, and curator was born in Tehran, Iran. She studied visual arts in Tehran and began her musical career after studying clarinet privately in the Tehran Symphony Orchestra. In 2013, she left Iran and studied jazz clarinet at the Institute of Music in Osnabrück.
Shabnam Parvaresh has been associated with the Morgenland Festival Osnabrück for almost 20 years.
She has performed as a soloist, in a duo with Kinan Azmeh, and is a founding member of the Morgenland Chamber Orchestra. In 2020, Parvarseh founded the “Sheen Trio,” with which she performs internationally.
In addition to her work as a musician, she is the curator of the concert series for improvised and experimental music “Klangfenster in der hase29.”
