MAias Alyamani

MAias is considered one of the foremost Arab artists of today. The award-winning violinist has performed as soloist all over the world with top leading Classical, Jazz, Arabic and World music artists. The Concert Master of Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra Diwan Series is a regular invitee as a lecturer by the most prestigious conservatories & music universities.

Rony Barrak

Rony Barrak is an internationally renowned Lebanese percussionist (Darbouka specialist) and composer. He has performed and recorded with numerous world class symphony orchestras and international top artists. Barrak has done various percussion master classes and workshops in music colleges, universities and schools worldwide.

Rembrandt Frerichs

An artistic energy source without an off-switch: the Dutch pianist and composer Rembrandt Frerichs takes a liberal approach to Jazz and Classical music by introducing foreign influences. For collaborations with superstars of Middle Eastern music, Rembrandt has completely reinvented his own sound world.

Michel Godard

The French tuba player Michel Godard is an avant-garde jazz and classical musician. He also plays the serpent, the predecessor of the tuba. As a creator and researcher, he finds and weaves the links between centuries and musical cultures. Godard is an essential tuba player of European Jazz ensembles and teaches at the CNSM in Paris. He worked and recorded with Rabih Abou-Khalil, Alim Qasimov and many other famous soloists of the “oriental” music.

Frederik Köster

The German jazz musician Frederik Köster is professor for jazz trumpet at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. He has received numerous awards as a soloist and performs internationally with renowned artists. Köster has released nine albums and plays with his bands at renowned jazz festivals all over the world. He is a fix member of the Trilok Gurtu Quartett and soloist of the Morgenland All Star Band.

Mohamed Najem

Mohamed Najem virtuously combines jazz with oriental influences. The Jerusalem-born clarinettist, ney player and composer lives as a freelance musician in Paris. In addition to his work with the ‘Mohamed Najem Quartet’, he is a pedagogical coordinator for children at the Philharmonie de Paris.

Dima Orsho

Dima Orsho's musical spectrum ranges from Arabic art songs to Middle Eastern-influenced world music and jazz-inspired scat singing. The soprano and composer, who comes from Syria and lives in Chicago, performs on international stages and has recorded various albums with world-famous musicians such as Yo-Yo Ma (whom she won a Grammy with), Nuria Rial, Jivan Gasparyan and many others.

Tony Overwater

The Dutch jazz musician Tony Overwater plays both the double bass and the violone. For more than 25 years, he has been active in Jazz, Arabic and Classical music. The award-winning bassist, composer and bandleader has recorded numerous albums and performs with renowned artists. Since many years he has been working with some of the outstanding soloists from the Arab world and Iran like Kayhan Kalhor, Rima Khcheich and many others.

Kayhan Kalhor

Kayhan Kalhor is an internationally acclaimed virtuoso on the kamancheh (spiked fiddle). Through his many musical collaborations, the Iranian-Kurdish multi-instrumentalist is a creative force in today’s music scene and has been instrumental in popularizing Persian around the world. Kalhor has composed works for Iran’s most renowned vocalists Mohammad Reza Shajarian and Shahram Nazeri and has performed and recorded with Iran’s greatest instrumentalists. He has composed music for television and film and was featured on the soundtrack of Francis Ford Copolla’s Youth “Without Youth”. Kayhan has been nominated for three Grammys and in 2017 was awarded a Grammy with Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble (2017).
